We want to foster a lifelong love of water by developing and instilling confidence in our swimmers. We will achieve this by providing the skills required for a solid foundation in beautiful technically correct strokes and lifesaving water safety!
The Maccabi Aquatics team is united by a common goal: to give skilled swimming instruction in a happy, fun and nurturing environment. Our excellence and quality go hand in hand with our enthusiasm in providing all our swimmers with the skills to be the best they can be.
Junior squad is our entry level into squad swimming. The swimmer needs to be proficient in all 4 strokes. Swimmers will have an opportunity to develop and enjoy the sport. Technique and skill development is the main emphasis of this squad. Swimmers in this group can progress to our competitive squads or may choose to enter our District Squad without any competitive stress. Swimmers are expected to attend 1-2 sessions per week.
This squad is for swimmers who have completed Junior Squad, who still enjoy the sport, but swimming is not their primary focus. This program also includes a water safety component.
Swimmers in this squad are usually 9 to 13. They are proficient in all 4 strokes and are willing to commit to a competitive pathway. This squad has 6 sessions on offer. Swimmers are expected tp attend 3-4 sessions per week.
Swimmers in this squad are similar age to the State Squad, or slightly younger, and need to work on their overall skills and technique to achieve state times and move up the ranks. This squad will build on the foundation established in Junior Squad and an endurance component will be added while still focusing on technique. Swimmers are expected to attend 3-5 sessions per week.
Swimmers in this group are aged 12-16 and have achieved or are very close to achieving state qualifying times. They will be competing at a State level and striving for National level. These sessions will be challenging and rewarding. Swimmers are expected to attend 4-6 sessions.
This is our top-level squad, swimmers in this squad are aged 14 and older. They have, or are very close to, attaining a national qualifying time and are willing to commit to swimming as their main sporting activity to get to an elite level. They are expected to attend at least 6 sessions a week.
